An opportunity is available for a registered nurse to provide specialized care in a 33-bed stepdown unit focused on cardiovascular patients. This role is based in Lawton, OK, offering a contract position that requires flexibility and clinical expertise. The unit primarily cares for patients with conditions such as STEMI/NSTEMI, chest pain rule out, congestive heart failure, noninvasive ventilation needs, postoperative cardiothoracic surgery patients transitioning from ICU, administration of antiarrhythmic IV medications, and peripheral vascular compromise. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care in a cardiovascular stepdown setting. - Manage and monitor patients with complex cardiac conditions. - Administer medications including antiarrhythmic IV therapies. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. - Utilize critical thinking to assess and respond to patient needs rapidly. - Float to medical/surgical units or emergency room as required to support patient care demands. Qualifications: - Valid RN license with at least 2 years of stepdown unit experience. - Strong knowledge of cardiovascular nursing and related interventions. - Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4 effectively. - Flexibility with shifts (6 PM to 6 AM) and willingness to float to other units. - Must have a clean professional record; applicants with any disciplinary action will not be considered.
