Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, Friday Sunday (36 hours/week)
Call: 1 weekend on-call rotation every 6 7 weeks; occasional
daytime weekend call; no holiday coverage required Position
overview The Echocardiography Technologist Nights performs
echocardiographic studies for an acute care hospital, supporting
cardiac diagnosis and management for a diverse inpatient and
emergency population. This weekend night-shift role is ideal for
Echo Techs comfortable working independently, prioritizing exams,
and collaborating with on-call providers in a Level II trauma
setting. Key responsibilities Perform transthoracic echocardiograms
and other cardiac ultrasound exams using departmental equipment
according to established protocols. Ensure optimal image quality
and completeness of studies to support accurate interpretation and
diagnosis. Identify and document normal and abnormal cardiac
findings, including chamber size, wall motion, valvular function,
and hemodynamic data as applicable. Communicate exam summaries and
urgent or critical findings to physicians in a timely manner,
following escalation procedures. Maintain accurate documentation
and patient records within the imaging and hospital systems,
supporting billing and reporting requirements. Adhere to
departmental protocols, infection control practices, and patient
safety standards at all times. Collaborate with cardiologists,
hospitalists, nurses, and imaging staff to coordinate exam timing
and provide patient-centered care. Required qualifications Minimum
6 months of recent experience as an Echocardiography Technologist
in a clinical setting. Active Oklahoma license; multistate/compact
licensure accepted where applicable. Current BLS (AHA)
certification. ARDMS (RVT) or other recognized cardiac/vascular
credential preferred; facility will review strong candidates
without active credentials. No history of disciplinary action on
professional license. Ability to meet all compliance, immunization,
and onboarding requirements at least one week prior to start date.
Willingness to work night shifts, scheduled weekends, and assigned
on-call rotations. Core competencies Cardiac imaging and technical
proficiency, including high-quality transthoracic echocardiography
and use of ultrasound systems. Strong attention to image quality,
detail, and completeness to support reliable cardiologist
interpretations. Effective communication with physicians and
clinical teams regarding study findings and patient status. Time
management and organizational skills to prioritize STAT, inpatient,
and scheduled exams on night and weekend shifts. Adaptability in an
acute care environment, including ED and inpatient consults in a
Level II trauma center. Professionalism, reliability, and a
patient-focused approach to care. Additional assignment details
Allied traveler orientation typically begins on Tuesdays per
facility onboarding schedule. On-call pay is provided at a set
hourly rate with a minimum call-back duration per hospital policy.
Local candidates (within 50 miles) may be considered at a reduced
local rate per facility guidelines. Former employees must meet
facility separation requirements before being eligible for agency
placement.
