ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Job Details: • Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex • Work on medical/surgical unit with stepdown/PCU experience required • Must have acute care surgical floor experience with ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred • Care for patients pre and post-operatively with experience managing new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT • Handle both surgical patients (5:1 ratio) and stepdown area patients (3:1 ratio) • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments • Assist physician in examination of patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures • Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products • Interact with family and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and discharge • Make referrals for patient care needs and delegate tasks to support staff • 1 year of nursing experience required • Associate's Degree in Nursing from accredited program required • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred • Current RN License issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact license required • Current Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association required • Strong verbal and written communication skills required Facility: This major academic medical center serves as a leading healthcare institution providing comprehensive medical services and advanced surgical care.
