Job Description:

Jasco Products is seeking a talented and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our Technology Solutions department.This position will:

Monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering.
Create new SQL instances for production and test environments, apply configurations, and manage availability groups and failover clustering.
Conduct database capacity planning to anticipate future storage and performance needs.
Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, including schema, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Provide recommendations for system architecture based upon Microsoft SQL Server best practices.
Collaborate by working with developers, analysts, infrastructure teams, and business units within the company.
Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with governance policies.
Manage/Create disaster recovery plans and test failover procedures.




Qualifications


A four-year degree in a relevant field is preferred or an equivalent amount of post-secondary education.
Five years experience in software/database management and development with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities and expertise is required.
Experience should include dealing with complex IT projects using various technologies and BI tools such as Power BI.
Current relevant certifications such as Microsoft DP-300 are ideal for this role.
Intermediate to advanced skills in database MS SQL Server Administration experience are required.
Intermediate to advanced skills with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Advanced familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI etc.
Intermediate to advanced skills for support, development and maintenance of the company data warehouse.
Advanced skills using backup, restore and recovery database tools.
Intermediate knowledge to build, maintain, and support databases and database servers within a Microsoft Azure environment.
Intermediate experience working with Active Directory.
Intermediate to advanced experience understanding Microsoft licensing methodologies.
Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
Automation/Scripting skills (e.g.,PowerShell, T-SQL).
Database Technologies: SQL Server (2016+), DB2, T-SQL, SSMS.
Ability to solve problems creatively while meeting the needs and standards of the organization.
Ability to provide technical leadership or mentoring as necessary.
Ability to read and interpret correspondence and software/hardware manuals.
Must be able to work independently and be able to prioritize several projects simultaneously.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
