Continental Resources' Summer Internship Program provides:Meaningful, career-specific experiencesHands-on insight into the oil and gas industryOpportunity to be mentored by experienced professionalsNetworking with fellow Continental interns, as well as interns from other companies and experienced professionalsExposure to various departments within ContinentalOpportunity to present their summer projects to experienced professionals and members of managementJob SummaryThe Environmental intern will work under the direction and training of an Environmental Specialist to develop solutions for project assignments associated with Continental's energy assets.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to working on a summer project, the Environmental intern will also have the opportunity to:Learn the functions within the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Department and perform entry level Environmental workPartner with office and field employees to enhance environmental educationConduct field activities such as inspections, sampling and information gatheringAssist HSE staff with program development, permitting and reporting, and other office tasksReview compliance history of permitted operations and enter data and information to support required routine reportingConduct research of regulatory requirements as well as past and current permitting requirements and help develop strategy for future permitting needsOther duties as assignedSkills and CompetenciesExcellent analytical, verbal and written communicationProficient with Microsoft OfficeEffective time managementRequired QualificationsCurrent enrollment in an accredited four (4) year College or University;Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, or other science related major;Eligible to work permanently in the United States upon graduationAn acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.Preferred QualificationsMinimum 3.0 GPAPhysical Requirements and Work ConditionsRequires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.Continental Resources, Inc. provides equal employment and affirmative action opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.Continental is successful because we challenge our employees to be innovative and creative.
