Water and Wastewater Construction Technician I - 19487*Ada, OK - Environmental Health - Full Time*_Posted yesterday - - Apply before June 10, 2025_*Apply**Save*DescriptionWe are currently looking for a Full Time Water and Wastewater Construction Technician I to join our OEH Construction Unit 2 team located at the Office of Environmental Health.*Summary:*Provides general labor in accomplishing construction tasks as related to the installation of sanitation facilities for projects managed by Office of Environmental Health (OEH).*Responsibilities:** Installs water well pumps* Mixes and pours concrete and performs light construction* Install pumps and well wiring below ground* Installs on-site wastewater treatment systems* Performs dirt work using hand tools and powered equipment* Set 'perc' test and read soil test* Assists in installation of septic tanks* Hauls rock and pipe for septic tanks, lagoons and aerobic systems* Assists with installing water service lines* Loads and unloads materials needed on site such as pipe, sand/gravel and lumber* Maintains inventory of materials and supplies, equipment and tools* Routinely cleans and maintains warehouse and equipment yard areas* Ensures equipment loading, trailering, and light maintenance of heavy equipment such as backhoes, dozer and trenchers* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types* Answers questions in a courteous and professional manner* Greets and engages with a smile* Determines needs, seeks positive experience and outcomes* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types* Maintains general upkeep of work area and maintains a safe environment* Maintains and promotes professionalism* Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics* Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.* Performs all other duties as assigned*Competencies:*Essential:* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines* Knowledge of industry best practices* Knowledge of reading and use of a map* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management*Skills:*Essential:* Basic Computer skills* Operate light and heavy equipment* Must be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of products*Experience:*Essential:* No prior experience required*Education:*Essential:* High School, GED or Equivalent*Credentials:*Essential:* Standard Driver's License* Pass general background checkNonessential:* Class D Wastewater Works Operator Certification* Certified Installer Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems* Drilling/Pump Installer License*Working Conditions:*Essential:* Outside, all weather conditions* Standing up to 100% of shift* Walking up to 50% of shift* Sometimes lift and or carry up to 100 lbs* Sometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach* Hearing protection* Eye wear* Heavy construction equipment* Hand tools* Subject to traveling and working at other locations or in other environments* Pass pre-employment drug test#INDWork Location: In personby Jobble
